Amateur Golfers to Compete in Paradise Palms Tournament

Amateur golfers are invited to experience the pressure of a ‘pro’ by competing in Paradise Palms’ first tournament for the year.

The 2012 XXXX Super Skins will take place over the weekend Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 January, 2012.

Course pro, Des Shearer said the qualifying round will be held on Saturday, with all qualifiers in with a chance of sharing $5000 cash.

To qualify, the top 10 Stableford scores will be put through to Sunday’s Shootout and Skins event.

Tee off is a shotgun start at 7am or 12.30pm.  Presentations and results announced at 5.45pm.

Sunday’s Shootout and Skins will feature the top 10 Stableford point scorers plus two pre-qualifiers.

All will tee off together at 11am in a six hole shootout.

The worst scorers for holes one and two will be eliminated as well as the single worst score on holes three to six.

The final four golfers will play ‘skins’ for the final 12 holes with holes seven to 10 worth $200 per skin.

Holes 11 to 14 worth $350 per skin, holes 15-17 worth $500 per skin and $1000 on the last.

All other players missing the cut will complete the weekend’s 36 hole tournament competing for the XXXX Gold trophy awarded to the best player outside the skins event.

There will be daily prizes and 36 hole prizes in three grades.

Tee off is a shotgun start at 6.30am or 11am.  The winner’s presentation will be held at 4.45pm followed by a media conference.

Pre qualifying rounds will take place on Sunday 18 December, 2011 and Saturday 7 January 2012.
