Apple Apps Produced By myLanguage Inc Help Support The Pakistan Relief Effort
San Jose, CA (News4us.com) September 10, 2010
myLanguage, Inc., the leading provider of crowd-sourced language translation applications, has updated its flagship application to include support for Urdu. The update is available for free and immediate download from the Apple App Store.
“We are pleased to provide this update and hope it allows aid personnel in Pakistan an easy way to communicate with Pakistanis and provide Pakistanis with the aid they need effectively.”, said Andrew Lauder, chief executive officer and founder at myLanguage. “Anyone with an iPhone or iPod Touch, and network access, can download the application from the Apple App store for free or get the Pro version by sending us a request.”
myLanguage Translator is different from other translators – it doesn’t just provide translations, but involves the myLanguage community to improve them. When anyone makes a translation, they can rate the translation and suggest improvements, thereby improving accuracy of myLanguage translations.
myLanguage is working closely with PakReport.org – the relief organization collecting and distributing alerts about flood incidents in Pakistan.
“We are excited to partner with myLanguage and their community to crowd-source local language support on PakReport.org,” said Faisal Chohan, founder of PakReport.org. “We believe our partnership will significantly accelerate our efforts on flood incident mapping in Pakistan.”
Anyone wishing to submit incident reports or to receive information about incidents can visit PakReport.org. Volunteers for processing reports are welcome.
