Asian parents Harlem Shake has received over 60,000 views in just four days.
Independent self help author Rayfil Wong, recruited his parents to participate in “Harlem Shake Asian Parents” as a viral video to promote his independent book the Brave Unicorn: Failure Is Not the End, but the Beginning (theBraveunicorn.com).
Filmed in a modest kitchen in San Francisco, Wong is seen wearing pajamas while his father is holding a frying pan in a stoic look.
When the beat hits, his father starts clamoring his pots and pan while his mother is dancing while wearing a Chinese solar visor.
As an independent author, Wong knew he had to create a viral video via social media in hopes to increase web traffic to his site and increase sales in the growing popular five stared book the Brave Unicorn sold on Amazon.
His goal is to create the first cartoon character with a self help message that failure is not the end.
The Brave Unicorn was born after Wong’s cousin took his own life. He made it a goal to encourage kids that failure is never the end, but only the beginning.
A children’s book that attracts kids to read with pop culture images, The Brave Unicorn incorporates Gangnam Style, Dramatic Evil Spy Chipmunk, Tron Cycle, Peanut Butter Jelly Time, Slurpee, Star Wars, Street Fighter, Bruce Lee and Victoria Secret Wings while teaching them an important lesson – failure is never the end, but only the beginning.
