In conjunction with Celtic band, Get Reel, The City of Cairns Highland and Irish Dancers will present Barron River Dance on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November in Port Douglas and Cairns.

According to show director, Mrs Jacqueline Wilson, Barron River Dance is an evocative blend of lively jigs and reels, instrumental pieces on harp and bagpipes along with contemporary Scottish and Irish dance routines brought together by multi-talented compere, Dave Martin.

“We are delighted to once again work with Kirk Steel and his and accomplished band, Get Reel playing the beats for our dancers while instrumentalists, Mick O’Mara, Kate Barry and Roisin Lyons provide truly special, musical interludes destined to bring a tear to the eye,” she said.

Ticket Prices and Purchase – Four Shows Only – Cairns and Port Douglas

Barron River Dance will be performed on Saturday 19 November at the Clink Theatre in Port Douglas at 2.30pm and 7.30 pm and on Sunday 20 November at Jute Theatre, Centre of Contemporary Arts in Cairns at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets are $25 adults, $21 student / concession and $18 children.  Tickets can be purchased at the door or from Re:Hab Café in Macrossan Street Port Douglas for Clink Theatre Shows and for shows at Centre of Contemporary Arts, Cairns.

The members of “Get Reel” Celtic band, Kirk Steele, Gail Betts, Nigel Pegrum, Dave Martin and Steve Wettenhall, bring to the stage a wealth of international musical experience as well as extensive appearances at local venues and events including Yungaburra Folk Festival, The Kuranda Amphitheatre and at various venues throughout Cairns.
