Food For Thought – New Podcast Helps Listeners Lose Weight Without Dieting
Los Angeles, California – (News4us.com) April 01, 2013
Win The Diet War, a free podcast available for subscription in iTunes under the Health/Self Help category, has just added a new episode to its series.
The show is for men and women who want to lose weight without dieting.
According to podcast host Dr. Nina Savelle-Rocklin, Psy.D., bingeing is a “symptom” of underlying emotions, issues or conflicts.
She says, “Whatever goes on with food is not the real problem, although it may feel like it is.”
Dr. Nina explains that people often turn to food for comfort, or distraction.
As she puts it, “It’s not about being addicted to food. Overeating is a way of dealing with difficult feelings or situations, but it’s a way of coping that ends up hurting more than it helps.”
Dr. Nina adds, “When you can comfort or soothe yourself with words instead of food, you’ll stop overeating and lose weight.”
In the newest episode, titled “What Do You Want To Lose?” she explores what the number on the scale means and how it impacts self-esteem.
Many people believe that when they lose weight, their lives will get better.
Dr. Nina helps listeners identify and challenge the negative ideas that are weighing them down.
She suggests that losing the inner critic is a key element to losing unwanted pounds.
She says, “When you gain confidence, you’ll feel happier and be less likely to turn to food when you’re upset.”
