Higher Education Exchange Grows Between India & Australia

Minister for Tertiary Education, Senator Chris Evans today visited the University of Delhi and revealed a range of initiatives being implemented to help foster further educational growth and development between Australia and India.

These new initiatives included exchange programs between the two countries for academics and college principals to further garner experience and exchange ideas in their chosen educational fields.

Senator Evans went on to say. “There are currently more than 300 collaborations between Australian and Indian universities, business and industry which involve the sharing of knowledge and expertise.”

“The Gillard Government wants to see these collaborations expand.”

Further higher education partnerships are being contemplated through various new measures including the new Australia India Higher Education Exchange.

The heads of leading Indian colleges will now be able to visit Australia on these higher exchange education programs and experience in person the state-of-the-art facilities that Australian universities have to offer.
