IIHS Highest Crash Safety Test Rating For 2011 Goes to Mazda 3

The 2011 Mazda 3 was named a “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It has received the highest possible crash safety test rating of ‘Good’ in all the tests that have been performed on it.
The Mazda 3 Sedan and Hatchback models have both earned the safety pick for 2011 models. Mazda has shown its commitment to safety and its customers through the Mazda 3 and the safety awards that both of the models have earned thus far.
To earn a “Top Safety Pick” a car must score the highest score of ‘Good’ on front, side and rear impact crash tests, as well as a roof strength test that measures occupant protection in the event of a rollover. To be eligible for the honor a vehicle must also be equipped with Electronic Stability Control.
Standard safety features that are included in the 2011 Mazda 3 are six airbags, anti-lock brakes, Dynamic Stability Control with a Traction Control System, front and rear stabilizer bars, a Tire Pressure Monitorin System, a crushable brake and accelerator pedal, a collapsible steering column, three-point safety belts for all seating positions and front seatbelt pretensioners with force limiters.
