Lindsay Lohan is Free and No Longer a Jailbird
Well known Actress Lindsay Lohan has been quietly released from a Californian jail cell in the early hours of Monday morning at 1.35a.m., and serving less than two weeks of a 90 day sentence.
After 13 days of incarceration Lohan was released into the care of a treatment center and under the direct supervision of the L.A. County probation department.
What was originally supposed to be a 3 month sentence at a rehabilitation center was later changed to a jail sentence by the judge who felt Lohan showed a complete disregard for the judicial system.
The shocked actress, who was visibly shaken and in tears as the sentence was read out, had been kept away from other prisoners for security reasons. Lohan now faces 12 months of random drug testing and if she violates any of the rules during her ongoing treatment, she can be potentially placed back into incarceration.
Prescription medicines that are prescribed by a doctor and for legitimate health reasons are the only drugs the young actress is permitted to take now.
Blogs are buzzing all over the Internet as fans who have been closely following the case and shocking final sentence are ecstatic that their star is now free and with professional help can now get on with her life.
There are calls from minority groups for Lohan to use her celebrity status to bring focus on and assist other women within the Californian penal system. What Lindsay Lohan does when she finally gets out of rehab is still unknown and will most surely be closely followed by her many fans.
