Napoleon Bonaparte Conquers Philly
Philadelphia, PA – (News4us.com) July 13, 2012
In France, it is illegal to name a pig Napoleon.
It’s a funny law, but also very telling.
The man who conquered Europe is still very much alive in our memory to this very day.
In this wine event, the Wine School of Philadelphia is uncovering another brow-raising element of Napoleon’s life: his love of wine.
“Clearly, the pleasures wines afford are transitory – but so are those of the ballet, or of a musical performance. Wine is inspiring and adds greatly to the joy of living.” – Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon was one of the world’s most famous tipplers.
The only thing larger than Napoleon’s wine cellar was his empire.
At its height, his rule stretched from Spain to Germany and Italy.
Nearly every wine region in the known world was under his thumb.
With that much power, what did Messier Bonaparte drink?
In this event, attendees will learn what the Emperor drank, and also sample the wines, too.
