Not Your Grandma Music Classes, New Innovative Music Classes Offered!

The WashTone Performing Arts School provides music lessons to all ages from 18 months to adults.

Students come in and within a few weeks they are surprising themselves and their families with their ability to play.

Here at WashTone Performing Arts we have created a new innovative way to teach music.

The Early Education program, known as Music Fun Time, where the students learn how to read music in the same manner they are taught letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc.

Students are given a backpack of rhythm instruments at registration to use in class and at home.

Throughout the course, additional instruments are provided adding variety, diversity and fun!

All students are introduced to Piano, Guitar, Percussion, Violin, Bells, Kazoos, Flute-A-Phone and Recorders.

The Instrumental Music Program consists of group lessons in Piano and Guitar and Ensembles.

The group piano lessons are for students of all ages and abilities from beginners to very advanced.

They offer many styles from Classical, Jazz and Pop. The piano lessons start from age 4 and each class is a 45 minute session.

The class room is set up as a group piano lab with each student using an individual piano for the class.

The group guitar Lessons are set up as a guitar workshop with each student bringing his or her own guitar to the class each week.

Students can choose either acoustic or electric guitars for their class. The guitar lessons start from age 7 and each class is a 45 minute session.

Ensembles are group classes where students play their principal instrument together.

Participation in these groups nurtures musicianship and reinforces reading and listening skills.

During the class, we stress intonation, communication, rhythmic security and cooperation. Students must be at least 8 years old.

Acting Classes: The school is offering a 5-Week acting workshop starting every Saturday from December 8, 2012 – January 12, 2013.

The students will learn improvisation skills, vocal techniques, what to expect at an audition and much more.
