QR Codes as a Marketing Tool Released in New Online Webinar

Digital marketing agency ‘White Horse’ has released another of its information packed webinars, within which its viewers will learn to share best practices for marketers in using QR code scanning to enable quick mobile access to relevant brand content.
“QR Codes Decoded: A Crash Course for Marketers”, now available for download on the White Horse website, is a free webinar exploring the current and future state of QR codes as a marketing tool to bridge mobile brand engagement across online and offline channels.
The webinar shares proprietary data from the White Horse Digital Futures Group’s in-aisle mobile study, conducted in May 2011. White Horse conducted a survey of 390 smartphone users in combination with field research, including shop-alongs in premium national retailer chains, to gauge QR code popularity and usability for mobile shoppers in stores.
The research found that users are often left behind in the QR code scanning experience because of logistical obstacles, including poor physical access to the codes with mobile devices, insufficient store signage and lack of sales associate knowledge about the programs.
“QR codes offer a unique ability to blur the boundaries between physical and digital brand interactions with a simple, fast action,” said Eric Anderson, VP of Marketing at White Horse.
“We are encouraged by consumer interest in QR codes, but we want to work with brands to evolve their applications of the technology to create stronger, more compelling mobile experiences.”
