Search Optics Inc., a leader in providing fully integrated digital marketing solutions specializing in the automotive industry, is pleased to announce the addition of a key role at the corporate headquarters in San Diego. Industry leader, Jim Parkinson, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer effective January 1, 2011.
Parkinson comes to Search Optics with over 25 years of experience at Sun Microsystems where he held numerous Director and Vice President roles, ultimately ending in the role of Senior Vice President of Cloud Engineering. At Sun, Parkinson was responsible for the entire research and development-engineering program which included Sun’s customer facing websites. In addition, his experience also includes managing large teams of engineers and sales teams.
“Jim’s technical expertise and management experience will play a critical role in leading our technology effort” said President and Founder, Troy Smith. “He will be focused on the continued optimization of our existing technology, while developing innovative products and services to meet the ever changing needs of our customers”.
Parkinson holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Mechanics and is in the process of completing a BS in Business and Information System and a Master of Science in Software Design and Engineering Management.
