Skytrans Boss Placed Under Arrest for a Good Cause

The managing director of Skytrans, Simon Wild probably has other things on his mind than going to jail.

But that is exactly where he is headed on Monday, 2 April, 2012 when he is arrested in his office by the Cairns Branch manager of PCYC, hand-cuffed and taken by police escort to the PCYC headquarters in McNamara Street, Edge Hill.

There he will remain in custody until his family, friends and business associates contribute enough money to make up the minimum $500 bail requirement.

Mon 2 April, 2012  Time: 11am  Place: Skytrans, 14-16 McLeod St, Cairns

Mr Wild will be arrested in the McLeod Street offices of Skytrans by the PCYC’s Branch Manager.

He will then be taken to the Cairns Branch of the PCYC, 91-97 McNamara Street, Manunda and held until he can raise the required $500 bail.

Monday’s stunt will be played out in the effort of promoting a good cause and securing participation by local businesses in PCYC’s new Time4Kids fundraising initiative that will be held during National Youth Week commencing on Friday 13 April, 2012.

This state-wide event will see PCYC jails spring up across Queensland in more than 40 local communities.

In Cairns, the PCYC’s Time4Kids arrest event will take place on Thursday, 19 April.

This is when representatives from participating businesses are arrested and detained in Cairns’ PCYC jail that will be located on the centre stage of Earlville Shopping Centre.

The Cairns Branch of the PCYC is aiming to secure 10 local businesses.

Mr Wild said his company is a keen supporter of the PCYC in Cairns and the regions in which Skytrans operates and urges local businesses to get on board this initiative which is all about raising money to fund worthwhile crime prevention and youth development programs.
