Skytrans Releases Social Investment Report on Community Funding

Amidst a gathering this morning of representatives from far north Queensland region’s key community organisations, the managing director of Skytrans, Simon Wild will officially launch his company’s first annual, Social Investment Report.

Mr Wild said Skytrans’ social investment initiatives are extensive and the report is a strategic document designed to highlight the company’s high value it places on ‘giving back’ to the local communities in which it serves.

“Today’s launch of our Social Investment Report marks the beginning of our commitment to produce an annual report showcasing our deep respect for local community.”

“I am dedicated to ensuring Skytrans continues to support social change which ultimately leads to improving the quality of life of people living in Queensland’s regional communities.”

In this inaugural report Skytrans effectively communicates how it has invested money, time and other resources over the past year by showcasing individual programs, activities and events.

In combination, this equates to a total financial contribution of $846,404 in 2011.

Billy Gordon and Clare Nash are Skytrans’ Community Development Managers who work hard to service and implement the company’s Social Investment Strategy of which this report is a key component.

According to Mr Gordon, a vital element to the success of this strategy is developing meaningful and sustainable partnerships.

This ranges from the support of the Charleville PCYC’s Anti Domestic Violence Campaign to the world renowned Mount Isa Rodeo.

In 2012 Skytrans will continue to make social investments throughout regional Queensland with partnerships that include the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Cape York Leaders Program and the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair.

Skytrans is a Queensland owned company with 20 years of operating history and a fleet of Dash-8 aircraft flying to 24 ports around Queensland and now New South Wales on scheduled and charter services.

All flights feature full in-flight service, movies, and quality catering.
