Socceroos Trounced by Germany in World Cup Shocker

World Cup Socceroos Trounced by Germany in World Cup ShockerAustralia’s hopes of putting in a good show at the World Cup have come to a grinding halt with their first game against Germany. The German juggernaut virtually walked all over them in the 4-0 victory. Critics are saying it looked like an easy training session for the Germans, who were never really put under any pressure during the entire match.

There are many questions being asked around the Australian camp and back at home in Australia like: What happened to Harry Kewell? No one knows he never made it off the bench. Tim Cahill one of Australia’s stronger players was red carded and sent off. This did not help the Aussie team moral and showed with the Germans scoring again soon after. This also means he faces an automatic one match ban and cannot play against Ghana in their next do or die match.

What was the coach Pim Veerbeek thinking when he changed the line up so close to the World Cup Opener. Why did he leave some of the socceroos most formidable players such as Kewell, Mark Bresciano and Josh Kennedy twiddling their thumbs on the bench, as was Dario Vidosic, who has been one of the most dangerous-looking players in the lead-up games.

Kudos must go to the German team who played magnificently and kept the constant pressure on till they saw the cracks appear then smashed them wide open.

So many questions with to few answers for the Australian public to mull over until the next match against Ghana which the Socceroos must now win to stay in any kind of contention for the 2010 games.
