South Yorkshire’s Robin Hood Airport Set for Expansion Due to Demand in Growth
(News4us.com) September 13, 2010
Passengers from Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire are beginning to favour Robin Hood Airport with figures showing almost 110,000 people passed through the South Yorkshire hub in June this year.
Mike Morton, Manager of the Robin Hood, emphasised that the airport has been working hard to raise awareness of the routes they serve.
With flights going to 20 holiday destinations including: Barbados, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey and United States, flights to ‘sun and sea’ destinations were the main area in which the airport saw growth.
The airport is now looking to expand their routes for the coming winter season, with their focus on snow locations.
With claims that forward sales for next year are already strong, the airport seems to be growing in reputation and popularity.
