The Enterprise Mobility Boot Camp at CTIA Enterprise & Applications for Business Executives & Industry Analysts in 2010

Business executives and industry analysts will be on hand to provide advice and share best practices for the mobile enterprise. The Enterprise Mobility Boot Camp will run October 5-6 during CTIA ENTERPRISE & APPLICATIONS in San Francisco, which takes place through October 8 at Moscone Center West.

“This boot camp brings to life the vision of the foundation to bring together enterprise mobility subject matter experts with those seeking to mobilize their workplace,” said Philippe Winthrop, managing director, The EMF. “End users will be able to connect with their peers, as well as analysts and mobility vendors to learn how to create and optimize their mobility strategy and further accelerate their business’ velocity.”

“Now more than ever, all businesses need to reduce costs and improve efficiencies—they need a mobility strategy,” said Robert Mesirow, CTIA vice president and show director. “Our objective with the Enterprise Mobility Boot Camp is to educate and inform business professionals of the latest wireless advancements available to them today. Working with The EMF, we have assembled a program to give them the tactical tools to build a comprehensive mobility strategy.”

On Tuesday, October 5, The Enterprise Mobility Boot Camp opens with “Basic Training,” consisting of three sessions and a networking reception. Highlights include:

Hot Issues of the Day for Enterprise Mobility, 1:00 – 2:00 pm – will examine tactical considerations facing IT/telecom professionals when it comes to devices, operating systems and more.

Hands-on Mobile Strategy/Policy Workbook Session, 2:15 – 3:15 pm – will open with Julie Palen, SVP, Mobile Device Management Solutions at Tangoe who will discuss the importance of having a mobility policy in place. The EMF’s Philippe Winthrop will moderate the hands-on, workbook session which will examine all aspects of mobile strategy and policy.

Mobile Application Strategies, 3:30 – 4:30 pm – attendees will hear from Maribel Lopez, principal and founder Market Strategies, Lopez Research, who will explore how mobile applications can radically improve worker productivity, business processes and consumer-business relations.

Networking Cocktail Reception, 4:30-6:00 pm, CTIA VIP Club, Level 3.

On Wednesday, October 6, from 1:00 – 5:00 pm, the Boot Camp will engage recruits in “Field Operations.” Highlights include:

Pitch Fest, 1:00 – 2:30 pm – Philippe Winthrop will challenge top enterprise mobility solution providers to present their views on the most important issues facing the mobile enterprise. Each participant will give a brief presentation, and at the conclusion, the audience will cast their vote for the best presentation. Pitch Fest participants include:

Speed Networking, 2:30 – 3:30 pm – Steve Brumer, Wireless Rain founder and CEO, and EMF advisory board member, will facilitate this session where participants will move from table to table sharing challenges and lessons learned.

Ask the Experts, 3:30 – 5:00 pm – Opening remarks will be delivered by Melanie Gray, president and CEO, Movero Technology. This interactive panel and break-out groups will be moderated by Philippe Winthrop and feature industry analysts, including: Andrew Brown, director, Wireless Enterprise Strategies, Strategy Analytics; Maribel Lopez, principal & founder, Market Strategies, Lopez Research LLC; Carrie MacGillivray, program manager, Mobile Enterprise and Telecom Group, IDC; and Gene Signorini, vice president, Anywhere Enterprise, Yankee Group.
