Weight Loss Expert Launches New YouTube Channel
Los Angeles, CA — (News4us.com) October 03, 2013
Dr. Nina Savelle-Rocklin, host of the popular podcast Win The Diet War, has launched a new YouTube channel designed to help viewers resolve their weight and body image problems.
The Dr. Nina Show is now available on under the People & Blogs category on YouTube.
Dr. Nina Savelle-Rocklin, Psy.D., is a psychoanalyst based in the Los Angeles area and a recognized expert in emotional eating.
In addition to her podcast, she writes an award-winning blog, Make Peace With Food, in which she addresses the underlying emotions and conflicts that lead to overeating.
According to Dr. Nina, binge eating is a symptom of deeper issues, problems and conflicts. She disputes the idea “food addiction” and suggests that bingeing is a way of coping with those underlying conflicts, some of which are out of awareness but not out of operation.
By identifying and processing what’s going on in their hearts and minds, viewers can lose weight without dieting.
Each episode of The Dr. Nina Show provides “food for thought” to help stop dieting and start creating a healthier, happier relationship to food.
In a recent episode called “Balance Your Life & The Scale” she makes a connection between staying in the moment and losing weight.
“Goals are great, but if you’re always looking to the future for happiness, you’re never really in the present and you feel deprived.”
Deprivation leads to a sense of emptiness, which causes some people to turn to food for literal and figurative fulfillment.
As Dr. Nina puts it, “Food is a frenemy, a friend that provides comfort and distraction from painful and upsetting emotions but also an enemy because it hurts more than it helps.”
She goes to explain that when people respond to themselves with words, they don’t need to eat to feel better, which leads to permanent weight loss.
