Weight Loss Podcast Now Available on Stitcher Radio
Los Angeles, California, – (News4us.com) June 11, 2013
Win The Diet War, a free podcast designed to help listeners make peace with food is now available on Stitcher Radio.
The informative series is geared towards men and women who seek to gain control of their emotional eating and lose weight without dieting.
Podcast host Dr. Nina Savelle-Rocklin, Psy.D. dispels the myth of food addiction and explains that weight problems are not about willpower.
According to her, overeating or bingeing is a way of coping with painful or uncomfortable thoughts, emotions and conflicts.
In her newest episode, titled “Stop Dieting, Start Living” she illustrates the difference between “doing” and “being” and how that relates to dieting.
She explains that multi-tasking and staying busy diverts attention from difficult ideas or emotions.
People who can’t slow down and relax are more likely to turn to food for comfort or to distract from anxiety, boredom, and other states of mind.
Dr. Nina says, “The key to change is allowing yourself to be a human being, not a human doing. When you can “be” with yourself and process any feelings or conflicts you might experience when you’re in that place of “being” you’re less likely to use food as a distraction.”
She offers strategies to stop the cycle of doing and dieting, reminding listeners to appreciate who they are, instead of focusing on what they have accomplished.
When people feel good about themselves and can experience a range of thoughts and emotions, they will have won a major battle in the diet war.
